Climate change in the Indo-Pacific basin from mid- to late Holocene

چکیده

Changes in climate mean state profoundly impact variability. Here, we quantify slow changes the induced by variations Earth’s orbit from mid- to late Holocene, and their feedback on main modes of We focus Indo-Pacific system show that mid-Holocene conditions favored dominance an equatorial dipole mode Indian Ocean (IO), independent El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) different IO Dipole (IOD) observed today. Mean a gradual shift basin along with IOD modulates most variance at present. The evolution connectivity are investigated over 6000 years using complex network methodology principal component analysis. To uncover causal link between constantly evolving such variability consider two analyses. First, explore quantifying departure 500-year annual snapshots averaged mid-Holocene. Climate Change over the Equatorial Indo-Pacific in Global Warming*

The response of the equatorial Indian Ocean climate to global warming is investigated using model outputs submitted to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Fourth Assessment Report. In all of the analyzed climate models, the SSTs in the western equatorial Indian Ocean warm more than the SSTs in the eastern equatorial Indian Ocean under global warming; the mean SST gradient acros...

Cultural responses to climate change during the late Holocene.

Modern complex societies exhibit marked resilience to interannual-to- decadal droughts, but cultural responses to multidecadal-to-multicentury droughts can only be addressed by integrating detailed archaeological and paleoclimatic records. Four case studies drawn from New and Old World civilizations document societal responses to prolonged drought, including population dislocations, urban aband...
